He was born in Gönen, Balıkesir in 1962. He completed his elementary and middle school education in the same city (1979). He studied Business at Gazi University (1983). In the year 1982, his first short story was published in the literature magazine Güldeste. He took place in the publication of Kayıtlar, Hece, Hece Öykü and Muhayyel with a group of friends. Portakal Bahçeleri and Pencere are translated into Albanian and some of his short stories are translated into Persian, Korean and Azarbaijani languages. Esenlik Zamanları won the short story award of Türkiye Yazarlar Birliği in 1999, Mürekkep won ESKADER ve Ömer Seyfettin short story awards in 2012.
