He was born in Kahramanmaraş in 1962. He made his university degree at the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at Ataturk University. (1986) He made his undergraduate thesis on Abdurrahim Karakoç, who’s a famous poet. In 1986, he was appointed as a teacher and worked as literature teacher in high schools. He completed his master’s degree at KSÜ.
He worked as Culture-Press Publishing Deparmental Manager at Kahramanmaraş Provincial National Education Directorate between the years 2004-2012 and as an administrator at Kahramanmaraş Nuri Pakdil Centre of Science and Arts between 2012-2015. Currently, he’s a literature teacher at a high school.
Ramazan Avcı, who works as a “Writing Instructor” at a writing workshop course within Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality; has published essays, poems, research articles and memoirs in magazines such as Türk Dili, Dolunay, Yeni Ufuklar, Uluslararası Türk Dil, Sanat, Edebiyat, Kültür ve Eğitim Dergisi, Edebiyat Bülteni, Hece Taşları and Mevsimler. He worked as an editorial director at the magazine Eğitim Kültür ve Sanatta Yeni Ufuk and as an editor at Kelamdan Kaleme. He took part in essay, short story and poetry competitions’ selection committees which are held at the national level. He presented papers at symposiums and panels organized at national and international levels.
Ramazan Avcı, a member of Türkiye Yazarlar Birliği, owns 18 published works in the fields of education, language and literature, some of which are Türk Şiirinin Beyaz Kartalı Bahaettin Karakoç, Karacaoğlan’dan Günümüze Kahramanmaraşlı Şairler and Okumaya Davet.
